ST JUST-IN-PENWITH
St Just is England's most westerly town whose origins were tin mining,
remains of which can be seen around the area of West Penwith. St Just
is now a lively town for artists. It has good tea rooms, pubs, cafes and
restaurants plus local shops including butchers, bakers, greengrocers,
small supermarkets.
There are some excellent walks for both the casual walker and more serious
ramblers. The countryside of St Just, and that of West Penwith is spectacular.
Due west of the town is Cape Cornwall, while the cliff scenery to the
north and south is dramatic. There are rocky headlands covered in gorse
and heather and wonderful views of the sea. If a clear day, the Scilly
Isles are visible.
